Before and after

Avery found a new game this afternoon. I stacked a pile of clean diapers and wipes with the intention of putting them in her dresser. Avery had a blast destroying it over and over. it was fun to watch.

Trouble

Avery is about 1000 times more daring than baby Bailey. I thought the living room was fairly safe for Avery to wander at will. In fact, just a minute before she ate dirt, I was thinking there was NOTHING in that corner she could find to eat. I was wrong. And I walked away.

Tired baby

Weekend on the road,
Sleep deprived
Purple eye-lidded,
Just got over a cold but still snotty,
Smeared banana on my hair/face/clothes,
Having diarrhea,
Stuck driving in the car for hours,
face.

Go Lakers!

Tonight, was Bailey's basketball team's 3rd win in a row.  It was also the 3rd win of the season.  It was also the League Championship.  Bailey scored 10 points for her team.

This is definitely something Bailey will remember forever.  We will also forever remind her of how they never gave up after losing 10 games in a row.

It's a miracle!!

This basketball season has been less than stellar for the Parkview Lakers.  Bailey's team isn't BAD, they just lack players dedicated enough to show up to every game.  They usually do great the first half, but some weeks there were ZERO players on the bench and our kids had to play the entire game with no breaks.  Lately, everyone has been showing up and they finally won their last regular season game which leaves an impressive season record of 11-1. Oh crap!  I think I mean 1-11.

Last night was the first night of playoffs.  The Lakers (in last place) take on the top team Knicks.  Somehow, the Lakers blew them out and the Knicks are done for the season.  The Lakers advance to the championship game next Thursday.

It's been awhile

It's been awhile since I've shared the wisdom of Bailey.  I will share a genius piece of schoolwork.   She brought home a sheet with this picture:

People are partying for women.

How many women are in this photo.

4.  Why do you think this photograph was taken?

To show how many women want women's rights.

This photo was taken long ago.  It is important for people to see it today?


It is important to remember this today because you should feel bad for the women who had to do stuff for men.  

Mailbox

It took me 3 trips to Home Depot but I finally replaced the mailbox. I was starting to fear the letter carrier would stop delivering when our mailbox door was failing to stay shut, but when the door fell off completely, I knew it was time. Meet our new mailbox.

This is what happens when you put a baby in a cardboard box with a cat.  Leroy is so tolerant.  He deserves an award.

Oops

I didn't mean to sound like such an attention whore in my previous post.  My Frankenstein keyboard on my broken ass-laptop just posted the previous post prematurely.  It just said "I hate myself".  This mistake made me laugh. . . a lot so I didn't delete it.   I was about to embark on composing a manifesto about what I hate about internet Mommy Bloggers.  I post here regularly about my genius children and fantastic life making me a complete hypocrite hence the title "I hate myself".  No, it is not a cry for help.  I'm fine.  I probably don't hate myself. 

I suppose I'll compose that post another day.  In the meantime, I should organize something and post pictures about what a great job I did.  Or I can cook something and take step-by-step artsy photographs of the process of my healthy and exotic dinner. 

No, I've got it!  I will post a funny little anecdote about something my child said! 

I went outside to move the car out of the driveway this morning so Nick could go to work.  I mentioned to Bailey I was going outside in my sexy pajamas and she should be embarrassed by my antics.  Her reply was simply "Word will spread".

Crawling! Videos!

Crawling Day Zero.  

I took a video last night hoping to catch Avery's first forward motion.  I could swear she was moving oh so slightly forward, but I was unable to catch it on video.  I took this video while I was watching The Human Centipede.  There is this crazy doctor who kidnapped 3 people and surgically connected them mouth to anus.  He taught his human centipede to crawl.  I think Avery was taking notes.  My favorite part of this video is the movie playing in the background.  Very baby friendly.

Crawling Day One

Fast forward 24 hours.  Avery is clearly mobile.  We are so happy for her but feel bad for the cats.  She is a beast.
