Softball

Bailey had an awesome softball season this year.  Last night, the opposing coach said Bailey was one of the best catchers he's seen.  Bailey's team didn't have such an awesome year, but they had fun.  

Mailbox

A little girl moved in next door.  She is Avery's best friend now.  They both love drawing tons of pictures and stuffing our mailboxes full of "art".  So I attached a spare mailbox to the fence between our yards.  

Now Avery and her friend can stuff their own mailbox full of beautiful "art".  Here is an example:

Took both girls to the dentist this morning and both are cavity free!  Avery doesn't like the dentist visit very much, but she gets lots of awesome stuff, a princess toothbrush, a balloon animal, stickers and a toy from the prize vending machine.  Bailey likes the video games but she thinks she's getting too old for the pediatric dentist.  

We dropped Avery off at daycare and took Bailey to the optometrist.  Bailey almost doesn't need glasses.  We ordered her a new pair, but they aren't 100% necessary.  Bailey's eyes have improved quite a bit but her astigmatism hasn't.  She definitely won't need to wear glasses for sports which is great news.  

I'm still blind as a bat.  One eye is -7.0 on the squinty scale.  

I'm so proud of Bailey.  12 years cavity free.  

Junior high

Bailey is 12 now and is getting prepared for Junior High!  Nick and I went to our first parent orientation.  It was informative and we have made the decision to send her to SUMMER SCHOOL!  Bailey is doing excellent in school but we think it is an affordable, structured activity that she can benefit from socially and academically.  She is devastated of course.  We have ruined her summer. She also has to catch the bus for an 8am class for an entire MONTH.  Our former early-bird is definitely growing up.  

Twins

Bailey and Avery are twins.

Moving!

We are moving!  Nothing major.  Just from one rental house to another.  We were getting an amazing deal on our current rental so we had to downsize a bit.  Our rent remains the same.

Old house:  

4 bedrooms

1875 square feet.  2.5 baths

Approximate value:  $215,000

New house:

4 bedrooms

1250 square feet 1 bathroom

Approximate Value: $129,000

Location of our new house is fantastic.  We are close to school, library, park and Rec center. Although the housing search was a bit bumpy, we are all very excited about our new place.  Our new landlord is looking for long-term renters.  It should be a good fit.  

Caca doo doo

Avery says a Rooster says "caca doo doo".  Cute.

When she finishes a book she says E.N. instead of "the end".

Basketball

Bailey and her basketball team this season.  She isn't playing at the "select" level and is having a much better time this season.  I was snooping on her teammate's Instagram page and stole this picture.  

I almost forgot about my blog again.

I just remembered I'm trying to post more stuff here.  I'm sure I've got some interesting photos on my phone from the last week or so. . . 

Bailey and and Avery selfie.  We were on our way back from the Mummy Exhibit at the museum.  Avery originally said she didn't want to go to the mummy exhibit because mummies are dead people.  We took her anyway.  Avery was interested enough with the exhibit and was relieved to know that the mummies couldn't walk.

Bailey:  Avery, how was daycare today?

Avery:  Difficult

Bailey:  Oh really!  What was difficult about daycare?

Avery:  Playing with Play-doh.

Happy New Year!!

Last year was uneventful.  No blogging happened and I didn't want to bore you with my mundane life.  I re-downloaded the blogger app and I'm back at it in 2015!  

Today I was blindly munching food while watching a documentary about conjoined twins when I realized I ate something that tasted like chemicals. It was a stink bug. I can finally cross that off my bucket list.
