An hour in the life of Avery
This kid is busy. Dishwasher, garbage can, cabinets and rearranging fridge magnets. This was all while I was trying to make dinner. I could have turned on Elmo for Bailey and we wouldn't have seen her until the video needed re-starting.
And as a bonus, here is a new video from a couple minutes ago. Avery spends a lot of her time trying to put clothes on.

Football Week 2 Update
Week 1 of Bailey's football season was a miserable loss 21-6 at Lew-Port. The refs were unusually nit-picky and that hurt our team quite a lot. Bailey's team isn't very experienced and our coach is very experienced, but never at such a young level. It was hard to watch.
This week was at home against Niagara-Wheatfield. The weather was gorgeous and Bailey got 2 tackles! Avery wore her new shirt and ate lots of gravel. Nick worked the chains to satisfy our volunteer requirement. Each team scored a touchdown, but both were taken away because OUR team caused a flag to be thrown both times (holding and offsides I believe). We tied 0-0.

WALLET LOCATED!!!
Target JUST called and they found my wallet!!!!!!!!
I am ecstatic. I asked Nick to call them last night ONE LAST TIME to make sure it wasn't there last night but he couldn't get through to the service desk.
I went to the DMV and applied for a replacement driver's license this morning. NY state doesn't print them right there like in Ohio because they are made of some space aged paper material.
I almost went to the bank to cancel my cards after the DMV, but I decided to put Avery down for a nap because she was moaning a lot at the DMV. I've been obsessively checking all of my bank accounts to make sure no one was using my cards. I pulled a credit report last night to make sure nobody tried to buy a car or anything either.
Wow I'm so excited.

Lost Wallet
I lost my wallet. It was last seen Wednesday night. I have called Target multiple times. I called nearby stores (Lowes, Applebees, Babies R Us). I have searched my house. I have done the laundry. I have searched through maggot filled garbage.
I now need a new wallet and this is the stuff it contained:
1. Driver's License. I tried to replace it, but the DMV wasn't open when I went. NY state takes 2 weeks to send a replacement.
2. Credit Card. Just one regular credit card.
3. Prepaid debit card with $22 on it.
4. Regular debit card. Supposedly I can get this replaced quickly at a specific branch of my bank.
5. Kohls charge. Eh, I can wait for a new one.
6. Target red debit card. I love this card and it is the last card I remember using on Wednesday.
7. Subway rewards card. I had like 300 rewards points on it!!!!!
8. Dave and Busters card. We had 1000 tickets on it and like 100 credits. I think this replaceable.
9. $25 gift card to Olive Garden
10. $10 or so left on a Panera Gift Card
11. $35 in babysitting credit at the JCC child care room.
12. Temporary JCC cards. We haven't even gotten the real ones.
13. Town ID cards. These are $5 to replace. Not too bad
14. Pictures of my kids. I have the real things so I can get over that.
15. Insurance cards.

17. Blood donor card
I am sad and frustrated and fairly sure I am enough of an idiot to have stashed the wallet somewhere in my house.

Football Season
Most wives detest the phrase "season tickets". I was the one bugging Nick to take the plunge. We always end up going to a few football games at UB because it is like 5 minutes away. Tickets are WAY overpriced ($24 each) so I usually spend all week searching for coupons or Craigslist tickets or even bugging my friend who's husband works at UB. None of those options were available this afternoon when Nick suggested going to the season opener.
UB offers endzone bleacher season tickets for super cheap. The kids Junior Bulls Club is $20 for the entire basketball/football season. We weighed the pros and cons, we compared calendars to make sure the games don't conflict with Bailey's football season. We checked our budget. Since parking is always free, we decided it was worth it. We were all ready to let Bailey know and she reminded us they have fireworks for the Season Opener. DANG IT.
We had a good time even though Bailey decided to choose plan B and watch the game on TV. Avery went and had a good time flirting with everyone and eating popcorn off of the ground. Nick was convinced that one college gal was going to steal Avery and take her back to her dorm room and keep her as a pet but we kept a close eye on the baby.
Since we live so close to the stadium, Bailey was a good sport and watched the fireworks with me from our house (you can't hear them). Go UB!
What isn't included in our Season Ticket package is the UB vs. BGSU game at Columbus Crew stadium the day after Thanksgiving. We are thinking of hitting up that game on the way back from Cincinnati.

Washington DC
Bailey turned 10 this weekend. Nick wanted some down time with the family.
I've been planning a cheap family vacation in my head for quite awhile and I finally could make it real. Here was my plan:
Fly on Southwest who regularly have cheap cheap flights to the DC area.
Use credit card points for nice hotel stays.
Visit lots of free monuments and museums.
We did it! It was a complete surprise to Bailey and she seemed to have a good time. It was our first real family vacation where we went by ourselves and didn't go visit/stay with anyone else.
We kept the trip fairly frugal. We did rent a car to drive from Baltimore to DC just so we could let it sit in the parking garage the whole time we were there (while paying handsomely for parking). Unfortunately, we could not stomach the idea of flying, taking a shuttle to the Amtrak, riding the Amtrak to the metro, transferring to the metro and walking all of our stuff 3 blocks to the hotel just so we could save $50. Luckily, there were no clown cars available for rent and we got a free upgrade to a Ford Fusion. We also got Nick and Bailey tickets to the Washington Nationals baseball game. The baseball game was not free, but I got decent seats for $15 and Bailey got to blow birthday money at a MLB game.
We stayed at a Holiday Inn near the Air and Space Museum. It was a great location and also had a roof top pool which was a neat perk for Bailey. The hotel was free (with the exception of PARKING!) because we spent some credit card points on it. Avery slept like crap the whole time, but she is amazingly pleasant when sleep deprived.

Sunday Night we left DC and went to Baltimore to stay near the airport for our early flight back home on Monday.
We stayed at the Hilton (using credit card points) near the Baltimore airport. They were awesome there but around 12:30am, we started hearing a VERY rowdy party in the room above us. I went upstairs to verify the location and headed to the front desk to complain. The front lobby was abuzz with musicians from a Drum and Bugle Corps competition. A half-hour later the rowdiness returned and Nick called the front desk to give them another reminder to keep it down. After the phone call, Bailey wakes up with a migraine. I give her some Ibuprofen and take her to the lobby to see the rowdy, drunken debauchery that was occurring in the lobby (the 7th floor party joined a ton more people who were partying the night away). Bailey met a girl who was also turning 10 this month. She was traveling with the Drum and Bugle corps and she was from the UK. It was lots of fun at 2am. The guy at the front desk was very sympathetic to our situation and tried to make our sleepless night the best. We packed up and took the 5am shuttle to the airport and there were STILL people hanging out in the lobby.
