Atlanta
Back in March, I went to Atlanta for work. I attended the Public Health Preparedness Summit. I generally don't get to go to big conferences like this ever. There were about 1700 attendees and they were all in my field of work.
I stayed with a friend nearby to save on hotel costs so I got to see some of Atlanta. Here is a picture from my walk to work one morning.
At the Peachtree MARTA (train/subway) station there is an incredibly long escalator. Probably the longest one I've ever been on.
This is the location of the Summit. It was held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. It was a very nice venue.
You could affix a state ribbon to your name badge and seem important. I almost reached for New York, but figured out I represent Ohio now. I even saw people from Alaska and American Samoa.

My friend Annie lives right across the street from Mary Macs Tea House which is quite the tourist destination. The food was good. I just had a side item smorgasbord. Fried Okra, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes and Mac and Cheese.
This is Annie's dog Charlie. Charlie likes to steal your clothes. I was in the process of trying to retrieve my socks when I decided to take a picture. Charlie liked to run and run and run with your clothes. Never a dull moment.
I took the MARTA to visit the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was a nice place to visit. You have the whole neighborhood to visit. I liked it a lot. It was very difficult to score a tour of the home because they are so limited.
Final resting place is down the street and next to the church.
Ebenezer Church is across the street from the visitors center.

Softball
Yes, Bailey made the switch to softball. It wasn't her choice, but we insisted. She has a couple of practices under her belt and so far is looking awesome compared to the other girls on her team.
Her coach said she will be "hitting cleanup" which Bailey is super excited about. Cleanup is the 4th batter in the lineup giving her the chance for a grand slam if the 3 batters before her successfully single. I've never heard of it, but I guess it's cool.
Bailey's new team colors are green and yellow. She still doesn't have any real friends to speak of, but she is warming up to the other girls on the team slowly. Bailey sure misses the Willow Ridge kids and I miss the parents. We will totally be rooting for the Mel Ott 2A Red Sox this year from 2 states away.

We are good.

Avery goes to a very nice babysitter.
Bailey is starting softball.
Nick and I get up at 5am. We drag the girlies out of bed at 6am. We are all on the road by 7am. Nick and I both have tests to take for our jobs. When we both pass, I'm hoping things will settle down.

Unpacked!
We are unpacked! Things are definitely hectic. This morning we had to get both girls to Grandma/Grandpa Moores house at 7am so Nick could go do some work related networking and I could go to work. We are meeting with a potential home day care provider this afternoon. Nick hasn't officially started working yet but he will start March 11th.
Bailey took a standardized test at school and it placed her around a 10th grade reading level. I think she is really proud. We sure are. Bailey is already signed up for softball (she is mad) for the spring and football for the summer/fall.
Avery is as sweet as ever. We haven't gotten her speech therapy started yet, but she is making progress. She sometimes tries to repeat words. She can identify mama, daddy, cat, sock and milk. Her favorite word is "mamadada". She will sit and play by herself saying "mamadada mamadada mamadada". It is cute. She is jabbering constantly which is a sign she is progressing.
I love my job so far. I have a lot of responsibility, but it is fun for me. I get to go to the Public Health Preparedness Summit in Atlanta in March! That sounds like a lot of fun. My mom is going to come down here to help Nick with the kids that week.

Mama
Avery and I had a nice reunion. When she saw me she immediately said "mama"! She wasn't saying anything a month ago. When I got home from work yesterday she wanted me to hold her so she could point at me and say mama several times.
She also loves Bailey but can't repeat her name yet. She just squeals with joy when you ask Avery about her sister.
